I am less sure than was last night at bourbon:30. As for ‘good,’ I should have been more. They often enjoy a good reputation. I’ve always heard very good things about them. Oh, I’m sure most of them do. Mine did not. It was Pedophilia Central. I was trying to stay away from that part of the reputation of Catholic education because it can be unfair to the schools that don't have that kind of history. Then again, I found out not that long ago that the priest connected a Catholic school near me was removed by the Archdiocese due to what they called credible accusations of sexual abuse by him when he was at one of his previous postings. I know parishioners from his church, some of whom sent their children to the Catholic school that was under his control. I can't imagine how they felt when word got out. I wonder what people knew because the accusations came from incidents that happened many years earlier. |

And what does that mean in practice? Different educational practices? In practice it means more variance of curriculum and pedagogy. Diocesan schools tend towards similarities within each diocese or archdiocese. There’s a church bureaucracy and a level of standardization. Schools run by holy orders are more individualized and will vary more from order to order and school to school. |

Much of the time it's not really a fight about politics. It's a response to bitterness, hatred, and ignorance spewed by an uneducated clod who revels in it. I realize this is his schtick, perfected over time and fermented by the finest in Twitter sewage. But at a place without your sort of enabling, he'd be pummeled into submission. "Why aren't you stomping Private Pyle's guts out?!?!?" I'll never support a ban, but I do think the people who don't knock down this garbage have created a place where his ultrastupid statements can take root. Be proud! You have harassed people on multiple websites. I can see how you think your perceived role as assistant to the regional accountability manager is needed. You enable the dumbest and least credible person here. I can see why pointing that out would bother you. |

I can see why you do what you do. Life hasn’t worked out well. It happens. Not enabling YF is the only thing you have left to hang on to. It's worked out very well. I don't have to cling to one skill in a dying industry. Pulling the plug sooner probably would have opened up more opportunities, but there is no way to change that now. But I can understand why you want to believe what you believe. Keep enabling the clueless! |

I find that debating YF is good practice for my real job. Seriously. Didn't you say you were pretty much done with that job? I've definitely had some frustrating moments lately, and some periods where I feel kind of directionless. I know I can wear my heart on my sleeve, but this is also absolutely the wrong forum to vent about that kind of thing. |
