Is goal differential a tie breaking stat? If yes, you can't blame them. It is, and you’re right, but it still leaves a really sour taste. And the worst part is that now Sweden pretty much has to try to beat the brakes off of Thailand now, too. As I always say when teams cry about an opponent "running up the score" on them in football: It's your job to keep that from happening. Play better.

Doing choreographed celebrations on goals 10,11 and 12 with the coaches jumping around is a really bad look.

Fairly certain nobody said these things. But the likes!

Who's the chic in the original post?
Can we get a title change on the thread? It's the "kick-the-ball-and-run tournament."

Alex Morgan. Well worth a deeper dive. She's known for kicking the ball? She scores often.

One thing I never get worked up about is people "running it up." I don't even think there should be "slaughter rules" in youth sports. Fuck it. Go take your whoopin' and deliver one next time.
I was absolutely flabbergasted to find out there is an eight-run slaughter rule in NCAA Division I softball. They are scholarship fucking athletes. Man up, girls.

You don't want someone to run up the score on you? Stop 'em.

Thanks! People did notice, then, just not any of the media that’s in the tank for women’s soccer. I am looking at a USA Today with a Nancy Armour column headlined “No apologies needed.” I look forward to similar treatment of Lincoln Riley when they torch Kansas by 70. Regarding the goal differential rule, I can’t believe they don’t max it out. In travel baseball you can’t be credited with more than a +8 in any game. That’s an easy rule to implement. But women’s soccer is run very stupidly so I can see why they don’t have that.

It’s not possible when we’re talking about these teams. Thailand likely does not have a player who could make the USA’s 16U national team.

Is Chile any good at kick-the-ball? Considering the U.S. is -20000, I’d say probably not.
