He could run for DNC co-chair instead.

That's right, though, isn't it? Technically, I guess. Technically he could do a lot of things.

I’m not trying to talk about that site or bitch about it. I’m kind of treating the two boards as one: @tap, that is #FakeNews.

My dear friend YF: If Trump’s Veteran’s Day appearance in France wasn’t canceled by the secret service, then why haven’t any reporters revealed it to be? Huh? Just John Kerry and David Frum speculating eh? Gabriel Sherman: Oh sorry. How you like them apples? Trump remained in a dark mood during his weekend trip to France to mark the 100th anniversary of the end of World War I. As The Washington Post reported, he got into an argument with British Prime Minister Theresa May during a phone call on the flight across the Atlantic on Friday. On Saturday morning, Trump skipped attending a rain-soaked ceremony at the Aisne-Marne American Cemetery to honor the Battle of Belleau Wood. When his absence became a scandal, the White House said the decision had been made because Marine One reportedly could not fly in the rain, and Secret Service did not want Trump traveling by motorcade. One Republican briefed on the internal discussions said the real reason Trump did not want to go was because there would be no tent to stand under. “He was worried his hair was going to get messed up in the rain,” the source said. “[John] Bolton and everyone was telling him this was a big mistake.” A former administration official said Trump hates being outside in wet conditions. “What I honestly think? He woke up and said, ‘It’s pouring rain. This is a joke and I’m not doing this.’” www.vanityfair.com/news/2018/11/trumps-post-midterms-blues-roil-the-white-house

Stipulating all of this reporting about melancholy Trump is true, then why? Is he simply in shock over losing the House? Taking it personally?

We have an anonymous "republican" who claims to have been "briefed" on the decision? Can we get some reporting that's based in fact? Like, from a source inside the military, or Secret Service, or even from Trump's staff? With apologies to Baron, but let's run through an analogy. Football coach says his decision to not use a player was based on a recommendation from the team doctor. Reporters think this is bullshit. But, instead of getting the scoop from the player, or the team doctor, who if the coach is lying, has been thrown under the bus, we instead get anonymously sourced story quoting a "person involved with the sport of football" who was briefed on the internal discussion? It's honestly sad that political reporting is less serious than sports and/or entertainment reporting.

I get a kick out of folks like Sherman, who have no access to Trump, who write things like, "Trump remained in a dark mood during his weekend trip to France." Or, the LA Times Eli Stokols, who says multiple sources have told him that, "Trump has retreated into a cocoon of bitterness and resentment." www.latimes.com/politics/la-na-pol-trump-absent-20181113-story.html?utm_source=dlvr.it&utm_medium=twitterA cocoon of bitterness and resentment? LOL. Let's be clear, no one told Eli this. The idea that multiple sources told him this is laughable. No one even talks like that. Meanwhile, a reporter who did spend time with Trump reports just the opposite regarding his mood:

Eli also went with this bit of #FakeNews:
Unusually early on Monday, the White House called a “lid” at 10:03 a.m. EST, informing reporters that the president would not have any scheduled activities or public appearances for the rest of the day. Although it was Veterans Day, Trump bucked tradition and opted not to make the two-mile trip to Arlington National Cemetery in northern Virginia to lay a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, as presidents since at least John F. Kennedy have done to mark the solemn holiday.
Does the LA Times reporter really not know that Veterans' Day was Sunday, and that the SecDef and the VA Secretary attended the wreath laying ceremony at Arlington National Cemetery, while Trump attended a rainy event at a military cemetery in France?
