Dems have been very interested in recruiting vets to run for office.
They seek these guys out (though Vindman was obviously not an unknown) and hold “boot camps” with them to see who might be the best potential candidates.
This is how Walz got into politics.
And seeing this, I have to think that this was a line that was tested out at these boot camps.

A guy in my golf group, his wife is in ad sales for one of the major DFW tv affiliates. Per him, they have close to $9 million in ad revenue booked for October. So multiply that by 4, and that's how much (likely) is being spent to move a comparative handful of votes in one major metro area.
