Why do people post fucking bullshit from the goddamn Daily Wire? God forbid she has enough money to pay first and last month's rent and the security deposit. Yeah, a real 1 percenter there. She's still living in New York. In no way would it be wise for a person to take on two leases because they have $15,000 in the bank. Jesus Fucking Christ what a dumb story. Why is the story dumb? She has at least $15k. She’s not exactly broke, which she is trying imply. Hell, I had to move across country on my own dime recently with overlapping leases. Which sucks. And, if the story was simply a look at what an incoming House member goes through, it would have been fine. The only problem I have with the whole story is her spin that it's some evidence of what's wrong with America.

I don't disagree, but... she tried to make this into a, "this is what's wrong with America," thing. I don't believe you should have to be rich to serve, but that it's expensive to rent an apartment in Washington D.C. is not a sign of a problem in America. A lot of Congressmen sleep in their offices -- they're only there Tuesday-Thursday nights typically. If that's not an option for, and I understand why it might not be, she could look to get a "crash pad" type arrangement with other members. Lot's of Senators do this, teaming up with others to get a place near Capitol Hill. Plus, I'm almost certain that her apartment in Parkchester, which her family has had since before she moved to Westchester as a two-year-old, is rent controlled, so she's likely paying peanuts for it. And, if she was really hurting for money, she could have pulled a few bartending shifts in the months after her primary victory. She hasn't had to campaign since, what, July? No one said she couldn't work between then and now. Good God. I guess she's now the person who scares conservatives most, since she's the target of the most ridiculous attacks.

I don't honestly know. If so, apologies. I can't tell with him. And it's in character with the rest of the post.

I suspect that paragraph was written with his tongue planted in his cheek. I actually don't see why this is ludicrous, or an "attack" on her. She literally chose not to work. She could have worked. Her profession is bartending. She could have bartended between her primary victory and her swearing in, in January. I don't even understand what the counter argument is. Is bartending beneath the dignity of a soon to be member of the House? That would be an odd argument for a representative of the "working class". If I'd been elected to Congress -- and especially in her case, where winning the July primary essentially means you've won the election -- I imagine i would have still fixed espresso machines until very close to the day I was sworn in. Don would have continued to work as a lawyer. Now, she quit her job to focus on her campaign -- and maybe even earlier to focus on activism, and campaigning for candidates like Bernie -- but she could have easily gotten some bartending shifts, and I honestly don't see what would be odd about a bartender working as a bartender, prior to starting her new job.

Having lived with her parents, and in a rent controlled apartment, I imagine it was shocking to look at having to pay market rate rents.
That's got to be a tough transition.

The fuck I would. I’m lukewarm on showing up a lot of days NOW. I'm with you, but you wouldn't have gone without working -- and a salary -- for six months, prior to starting a job that paid $174,000, especially when you consider the added expenses you'd be facing. I don't care that she didn't work. I even sympathize with her, given the expense of getting set up in D.C. I just don't think it's a sign that there are problems in America.

I think the young socialist from Queens has cranked out an extensive body of evidence suggesting that she doesn't know the first fucking thing about that which she purports to be an expert. Her cluelessness (stipulated arguendo) about how the whole moving-to-another-city thing works is about par for the course for my older kids ... but they're not held up as sages telling us all how much better things would be if we'd just listen to them.
It should be emphasized, however, that her shortcomings are a mere speck in the eye of the left-ish set when considered in the context of the other sages on the scene. Besides ... she's young, there's hope for her. What about the homo economicus ignoramus waxing poetic about all those Chinese and Germans who're "ripping us off"?

The Ocasio-Cortez story of the day for me was her showing up outside Pelosi's office with a bunch of climate change protesters.
I guess that she does not know that it will very likely be Pelosi who issues her Congressional committee assignments.

LOL, please. Just the way he starts it ... playing with the verbiage to make those fucking Democrats look so damn dastardly!
1, Mitch forgot "to" between voted and keep but that's on Fox for not editing it 2, t he American people "voted (to) keep Republicans in control" but the Republican Senate Majority "will be dealing" with a House of Representatives "under Democratic control"3, far be it for the Republican Senate Majority to have to "deal with" a House that is duh-duh-DUH! "under Democratic control" as if it was commandeered by Kim Jong-Un or Putin or is the chamber that is filled with too much liberal cooties. I stopped read at that point but it was a cute lede, McConnellese at its douchiest best.

Ryan looks genuinely excited to see him.
Imagine if you dopes had just voted for these two, we could have avoided Trump entirely.
