Griffin was fired because of philosophical differences between him and others in how he was coaching the team. Philosophical differences can translate to the product on the court, which is clear to people who follow sports.
I wanted to add this #commentary after breaking the news of the firing earlier.

Philosophical differences between him and who? Giannis and Lillard would be my first guess.

And in tonight’s episode of wacky stat lines: Luka scores 73 and Booker 62 …in a loss.
I’ll say it again, it might be time for the League to let defenses get a little physical again. Certainly not a return to the 90s brutal ball stuff, but at least a bit more than this. Scoring has gotten too damn easy.

Inefficiencies we’re ironed out of the game in a big way.

Inefficiencies we’re ironed out of the game in a big way. Well, in terms of defensive restrictions, it’s actually been a tightening of the rules, not a loosening. Defenders can barely breathe on a guy without getting whistled nowadays. SO different from how the game was officiated back in the ultra-physical 90s.

I watched about one quarter of the All-Star Game last night. They need to get rid of it. Funny part was the various broadcasters continuously asking players if they were planning to take it seriously this year, and continuously getting the old non-answer answer to that.

I saw a few highlights of Dame launching 3s from half court and I’m kind of glad I didn’t watch.

I saw a few highlights of Dame launching 3s from half court and I’m kind of glad I didn’t watch. Am I wrong, or did they used to play this in mid-afternoon? That wasn't bad - gave you something to throw on the TV with football over. But watching this in prime time ... geesh, spring training can't come soon enough. And, to be clear, I don't blame the players one bit.

When did they go back to East vs West. Didn't watch, but saw on the menu Wasn't it two guys drafting teams the last few years?

I feel like it’s been on weeknights the past few years. The fact that I don’t know for sure says a lot.
They should probably just stick with the skills competition stuff and scrap the game, like football did. The Curry-Ionescu thing piqued my curiosity — they should do more of that.

All-Star Games in all sports are pretty silly, at this point. I mean, the players barely care about the regular season, let alone an exhibition.
