I'm not sure that any wing of the Democrat party dominates the way the Lost-Its-Damn-Fool-Mind wing dominates the Republican party, which quite possibly could be the Democrats' biggest problem. The biggest problem for the Democrats is that the economy is doing fine. As long as the economy is doing fine, people don't care if Donald Trump is Tweeting out pics of himself naked and covered in green Jello. Hillary ran on the, "Donald Trump is an idiot" message last time. Doesn't work. People think it's cool that Donald Trump is a famous guy from teevee, they are convinced that he's a business savant, and the economy doing well confirms it for them.

I think the message is, “I couldn’t pass an undergrad finance class because I’m dumber than a fucking stump.” EDIT: Between courses, ask the fool when (and how) he came to the realization that the Modigliani-Miller theorems, for which both Modigliani and Miller won Nobels, were fatally flawed. Thing is, I actually support some fairly progressive economic reforms, like the universal basic income. But the antipathy toward corporations and capitalism more generally is naive and troubling. Until he/she concluded, based on my use of the word "cosmopolitan," that I am anti-Semitic (for the chiseled-in-stone record, I absolutely am not), one of the mothership's other lawyers and I would chuckle over PMs at the ignorance frequently displayed re: some pretty basic things about business/finance/etc. Even though we were ideological opposites, our shared view was that, before one starts opining about policy, one should actually understand the ins and outs of what's being talked about.

This is why I rarely opine about policy.

What's the Dem's rationale for asking the voters to put them back in power?

Brilliant! That way, if it doesn't happen, Il Douché can claim he never said it about the United States

Well, shit, I was gonna ding one of my stats groups for a typo in their presentation -- they referred to a predictor variable as a "predator variable" -- but if the W.H. can get away with it ...
