Looks like this witch-hunt is losing steam, based on the dearth of conversation here and on Fox News. Right? I think there's some business about the Royal Family that is stealing its thunder. I wouldn't vote for Trump to staple my documents, but I've long ago lost track of this story. I guess I am of the mind that when something happens, I'll pay attention. So much of the reporting is attributed to anonymous sources, conjecturing about this, that, or the other that is about to happen. (And then doesn't.) I'm not pulling an YankeeFan here. I don't doubt that something could happen that brings this presidency to its knees. But I can't obsess over every rumor. That's what the baseball Hot Stove thread is for. |

"Potentially damaging " is all I keep hearing. Call me when it's actually damaging. So Cohen has said that Trump organization was negotiating a Russian development deal in 2016. Trump did not deny that. Not seeing where the crime is so far. When campaign started was The Trump Organization suppose to shut it's doors?

So it seems like this Cohen mess is a big deal. My smarter-than-me lawyer fiancee is telling me it's a big deal. And she's never wrong (and has a great ass).
Why doesn't it FEEL like a bigger deal? Have we just had too many stories that said "here comes the end of Trump" in the past year? Are we all the boy who cried "Collusion!"?

I realize it makes me kind of a poor citizen, but wake me up when they break in with the resignation. Doesn’t it bother you at all that you’ve, in that cynicism, become numb to corruption? The Trumps have worn us all down with how openly they flaunt their unwillingness to behave ethically. They’ve corroded the norms with a lack of shame. This presidency would’ve been in full blown impeachment hearings with Congressional Republicans of the 1970s. Instead we have indifference because of scandal fatigue. That’s not the media “overplaying it’s hand” in 97 percent of cases, it’s that he’s so hilariously corrupt we can’t keep up. Even when the pee tape emerges you’re still going to see conservative media saying “So the man likes to be peed on. Doesn’t prove anything. He obviously can’t be blackmailed because he lacks shame. Are we sex shaming Donald Trump now? I thought liberals think sex should be shameless. You’re such hypocrites. It doesn’t matter if he offered Putin a $50 million condo, and there is tape of it, in exchange for lifting sanctions. Putin doesn’t even like condos, so ... checkmate libs.” |
