This one? I don't think much of it. Clearly, stock buybacks can be one manifestation of the corporate agency problem ... the management team's interests don't align perfectly with the shareholders, and management's in a position to act to shareholders' detriment in the pursuit of its interests ... but there are plenty of others. And there are plenty of checks on management teams. Are they perfect? Of course not. But shareholders aren't going to allow their interests to be systematically undermined. Sure, but they’re not saying buybacks should be prohibited. They just suggest a fairly modest disclosure proposal. .

Ro Khanna ... more influential than Charles Pierce? Discuss ... or, on second thought, don't.

I’ll be curious to see if any other outlet can confirm this. I’m having a hard time believing something like this is only coming out now, and the article is thinly sourced. Is it going to be like McClatchy’s report that Mueller’s team has evidence that Michael Cohen did travel to Prague, as described in the “dossier”, which no one else has reported? This is a fairly robust denial.

It's been a day, and no other outlet has been able to confirm this story. Not looking goor for the Guardian. My favorite reply was from one of neutralcorner's favorites, John Schindler, who like a national security version of Mike Francesa, hints that he's known about this all along.

Anyone want to talk about the president retweeting memes from a nutjob, InfoWars-like Twitter handle all night? Including one that proposes a list of Democrats who should now be tried for treason?

Haven't seen what you're referring to yet, but... We're always trying to portray Trump as something new. As breaking every norm. His actions are unprecedented. And so, journalists, and prominent Dems howl about children in cages, and teargas fired on immigrants. But then we learn that this isn't new. In fact, the picture of kids in cages, shared by an Obama official, took place during the Obama administration. Teargas was regularly fired at the border during the Obama administration. And, Louise Mensch, every bit the conspiracy theorist that Alex Jones is, was given an op-ed in the Times. So, let me know when Trump does something we haven't seen already.
