My eyes go straight to the "NOTICE: Employee Entrance ONLY" sign . . . not to the Seig Hailers.

Monday was 11/12. It is the official observed holiday (because it's a Monday). There were Veterans Day events all over America, including one at our national cemetery for military men and women. He chose not to attend. The military celebrates Veteran’s Day on, wait for it... Veteran’s Day. Who was the veteran they honored? Which Farmer has the market? Sorry ... the copy editor in me just belched. [/apostrophe police]

It doesn't look like a 'wave goodbye' pose. Kid saying he felt 'unsafe' is a bit hokey. Even if meant as a joke, such incredible bad taste. Why would the police investigate?

If I'd ever been in such a picture, my father would have had a fit. I guess taking a couple of bullets from a Nazi paratrooper's MG42 made him kinda unreasonable about such little jokes.

I'm going to go out on a limb and say there are parents of those in that photo who will throw a fit. Getting shot at by Nazis not necessary.

Lost in all of this: Yeah, his statement was fairly dramatic. But the kid in the upper-right? Brav-fucking-o.

I won't reveal specifics, but a few of us did a dumb thing utilizing swastikas one time during my youth.
We were thinking about Charles Manson, not Nazis.
Like, "Hardee, har, har, wouldn't it be hilarious if this innocent thing were made up to look like Charles Manson??!!"

Who, here, went to high school and heard racist, misogynistic, or homophobic remarks, or might have made a few cracks? Anyone look back at their teenage years and think they weren't a dumbass at some point? Great minds think alike. My post was not intended to be in response to yours. Just turned out that way.

Just the other day, on one of my friend text groups, someone texted to see if we wanted to come over on a Friday night.
Action:
Friend: I can't. I'm going to the movies.
Don Draper: What movie are you going to see?
Friend: The Freddie Mercury movie.
(Pregnant pause follows)
Don Draper: No surprise there.
(*"Ha has" all around for the response*)
Get it, guys?
Because Freddie Mercury was gay.

I'm going to go out on a limb and say there are parents of those in that photo who will throw a fit. Getting shot at by Nazis not necessary. Maybe not too many, though. www.nytimes.com/2018/11/12/us/nazi-salute-wisconsin-students.htmlEach year, members of the junior class at Baraboo High School pose on the courthouse steps for parents and other residents. More than one professional photographer usually attends the event, according to Alisyn Amant, 19, a freshman at the University of Wisconsin-Madison who graduated from Baraboo High last year. The junior prom is held each year in the school gymnasium; there is no senior prom.
Some of the students in the picture have since graduated, Ms. Amant said, but most are now seniors at the school. Ms. Amant said she knows several of the students in the photograph but would not give their names.
She said that there was a clique of boys at the school who often made offensive remarks. “I’m not surprised by them doing this,” she said, “but I’m surprised that there’s so many of them doing this. Photographers were there; the parents were there; community members were there.”
I say this with a lifetime of knowledge and having checked in on the scene again a mere month ago: Wisconsin is super, super racist in an extremely casual way.
