Fields to the Steelers for a bag of balls.

What were you expecting? People who get paid to know football actually saw what Fields offers. The Mel Kipers of the world can yammer on all day about how they can't understand why no one wants Fields, but there was no market for him for a reason. Would have been nice to get a higher pick, but once every other QB job was filled up, what was Poles supposed to do?

Can see Fields starting by the end of next season and gong to the playoffs. Not betting on it, but would be more surprised to see DangeRuss starting a playoff game than Fields.

because the Steelers have gone to the playoffs with worse QBs and because Wilson is old He was still better than Fiejds last year, including a crazy comeback to beat the Bears, as Fields did his usual disappearing act in the second half. In that division, I'd be surprised if the Steelers make the playoffs regardless.

Fields to the Steelers for a bag of balls. Fair market value.

Fields to the Steelers for a bag of balls. They got more for Pickett than they gave up for Fields, which should tell you how little the league thinks of Fields. I would have rather they kept Pickett. He still had two more years on his rookie deal and at least he knows how to finish a game. That said, once he was gone, this move made sense. They needed a backup quarterback, preferably without giving up any resources they are going to need to fill the gaping holes they have at receiver and center.

It’s just frustrating that this is what a No. 10 overall pick turned out to be.

that's definitely frustrating. overall last season, Pickett was better, but Fields' best two games were better than any of Pickett's. i know that also can sound like the people who called the radio and wanted Tommy DeVito to be future QB of the Giants, but think Fields still has potential.

Dudes calling the morning show rescinding their fandom. You would think they just traded Joe Montana.

What irks me the most about the caterwauling is it seems like people didn’t see this coming. If you paid an ounce of attention, you knew this was going to happen for months. I get the feeling a lot of fans were under the impression the Bears were wrestling with a coin flip decision.
