If you say so. That wasn't my point, but you do you.

Time to turn the focus on the MIT President.

LOL. It’s not “plagiarism” plagiarism.

Was it in a message board post?
A couple folks at the other place told me that plagiarism doesn’t count as plagiarism if it was.

I’m old enough to remember when Cancel Culture was bad.
(What a very stupid thing in our times)

I’m old enough to remember when Cancel Culture was bad. (What a very stupid thing in our times) It's not bad if you got a job you were unqualified for under false pretenses. Of course, Harvard will just hire someone else who shouldn't be running a university.

I’m old enough to remember when Cancel Culture was bad. (What a very stupid thing in our times) You really think this equates with that? At no time would a university president survive this. Cancel culture, to me, is more like when someone gets fired, or has their school acceptance revoked, because years earlier, when they were a teen, they used the “N-word” while singing along to a song, that was caught on video.

This is more pathetic than Gay’s statement.
You should have fired her.
Allowing her to resign was a grace she did not deserve.
But have the brains to accept her resignation and wish her well, and stop making excuses.
You are stepping on any goodwill you may have gained from this.
There is no reason to have any confidence that things will improve.

I’m old enough to remember when Cancel Culture was bad. (What a very stupid thing in our times) I must be a lot older than you. I remember when being caught red-handed as a plagiarist was, for a scholar, "slink away in shame" material.

Probably not bad enough to be cared about by this many people, though most of the noise isn’t really about the job qualifications.
