Here's an example of the "Free PR" I was talking about. And, I get that Block Club is not the height of journalism, but I still think it's weird that the media turns off journalistic norms during Pride to become the PR arm of LGBTQ+ businesses. Honest question: If you were back out in the dating scene, would you be worried that you'd end up hitting on or even starting to date a trans woman? Some of these people look pretty good! Or do you think it's fairly clear when you're up close and personal ... |

They opened a Chick-fil-A in my building a couple of months ago and every TV station in the area had an article on it. |

This is a weird hill to die on. The twerking dude is gross. He did it for his gratification. That's what makes it bad. I didn't see the twerking dude, but it seemed like the "Captain Underpants" cover pretty accurately represented what was being described. Posting it reminds me of when the news shows us courtroom sketches. Here you go. And, he apparently did the same thing last year. It's gross. He sees a group of kids, and does a dance for them. If he'd done this outside the context of a Pride Parade, he'd be arrested. |

I thought the barista at a hotel was kind of cute not very long ago. But her voice, and the fact that her name was John was a little confusing for a minute. |

Streets were closed by revelers, and property was destroyed, two consecutive nights, because the city didn't want to disrupt "Pride".
That this could go on for 6 hours, and result in only two arrests is a joke.
But it's allowed because nothing can stop the party.
This past evening, there was a gathering of people near the Belmont L stop that was disruptive and included behavior that is absolutely unacceptable. Thank you to the Chicago Police Department and our first responders who were on the scene. I will be meeting with the 19th District police to discuss the incidents that took place over the past two nights and identify ways we can prevent them from occurring moving forward. I am deeply frustrated that what should have been a weekend of celebration for our LBGTQ+ community turned into an unsafe and disturbing situation the past two nights for our neighbors. For those impacted, please let my office know so we can provide assistance in any way that we can.
Officers made two arrests and had multiple units on scene with helicopter assistance. The group began gathering around 9:00 pm and dispersed around 3:00 am.
