The Sabres were wearing some ugly-ass all-white get-ups last night. I'm so tired of the monochrome look. It is pervasive in the NFL right now, and hideous.

TV doesn't show warmups. So, a few people who got to the arena early enough to take a piss, buy a beer, and get to their seat in time for warmups saw it? Must have made a hell of an impact. You really don’t think the cameras were running and the footage would be edited into the gamecast and “Sportscenter” a few hundred times?

Would it be "acceptable" for someone to be against inter-racial marriage? No. Not for me. Should a hockey player be compelled to wear a jersey proclaiming support for inter-racial marriage? Probably not. Was it acceptable for the hockey player to be against Pride? Is there a definition of Pride? I think he's probably anti gay. His Church is anti-gay. (My wife's cousin's baby daddy specifically joined a Russian Orthodox Church because it best matched his antisemitic, anti-gay views.) I'm pro gay. I'm pro gay marriage. And, I don't think the jersey is objectionable. But, the whole issues is all tied to left/right politics, and a whole host of loaded political issues, that go beyond simple acceptance of gays or gay marriage. So, I'm not sure I'd want to show support for something so broad, and undefined.

I'm still going to guess that they would have gotten a lot more attention if they were worn during the game. But, of course they were worried that they would have to bench any player who refused to wear one.

I think teams frequently do things like this, though, no? Weren't there a lot of "Black Lives Matter" warm-ups worn? Your point is well-taken, though. A lot of people got so, so mad when LeBron wore an “I can’t breathe” T-shirt during warmups. Those people are dopes and if they suggested benching Bron over it they were laughed at. Calls for benching the Rusky should be laughed at too

In other words, you're uneasy with the idea that "Pride" might also mean that you support, say, top surgery for 14-year-olds, or kiddie drag shows.

(Though, I'd guess that in Provorov's case, he's actually against gay relationships and marriage.)

LOL. You know what I'm against?
Legalized sports betting.
Is there a jersey for that?
Instead, the Flyers message is that Gays can play hockey, and don't forget to put a couple of bucks down with our official sports betting sponsor.

LOL. Go fuck yourselves. Today, the Philadelphia Flyers announced that leading global online betting and gaming brand Betway, is now an official partner of the franchise. As an Official Partner of the Flyers, Betway's branding will appear on the ice and on the boards during Flyers home games, and thanks to the team's strong broadcast and social media reach, Betway will benefit from millions of views and impressions over the course of the season.
"As an organization, we focus on partnering with innovative, forward-thinking brands who understand not only where the sports industry is right now, but also where it's going," said Mike Shane, Chief Business Officer for the Flyers. "This partnership with Betway is a great match for our organization, and thanks to our league-leading social media platforms and our consistently strong TV ratings, we're able to provide our partners with incredible exposure and reach." "Continuing the growth of the brand, we're thrilled to add the Philadelphia Flyers to our burgeoning North American portfolio," said Anthony Werkman, CEO of Betway. "Through our partnerships with both the Flyers and the 76ers, Betway now has a major presence in the fanatical sporting city of Philadelphia. The Flyers are one of the most popular teams in the NHL, setting social media and TV viewership records, so this partnership will give us huge exposure to fans throughout Pennsylvania who have access to our products." The Flyers have some of the NHL's most popular and wide-reaching social media accounts, which bring unmatched value to corporate partners. This season, the team is first in the league in Twitter engagements, first in Twitter Social value, and more. The team also set national TV viewership records last year and continue to post strong viewership ratings for both local and national broadcasts.www.nhl.com/flyers/news/flyers-announce-new-partnership-with-super-group-owned-betway/c-327739720

LOL. You know what I'm against? Legalized sports betting. You really are? Of course. Like the lottery, and cigarets, it's a tax on the poor.

The tape on the sticks looks pretty good, but I can only find one picture of a player using a rainbow taped stick, while wearing his game jersey. Did everyone else carry a prop stick during warmups?

Of course. Like the lottery, and cigarets, it's a tax on the poor. Unlike the lottery, it's not run by the government.
