The demographics of my wife's store are perhaps older, whiter and more conservative than just about anywhere on the map.
It's an arts and crafts store. They sent the same aisle full of Pride month decorations/apparel to her store that they do to every store in the nation. Where it has sat on the shelves, because it appeals to nobody who frequents her store. Same was true for Black History Month.
So eventually it all goes into what they call "grab bags", a super clearance bin for unsold stuff that they try to unload for pennies on the dollar.
They could have filled those aisles with "Let's Go Brandon" merchandise, and it would have flown off the shelves.
Don't these stores have logistics people?

Occasionally you'll see the Meijers or Targets around here with scads of Colts merchandise during NFL season, which collects dust. |

It was “rainbow day” at my kids’ school today. Each grade was asked to wear a different color.
Both of my kids came home gay this afternoon.

I was in the local Walgreen's this weekend and the person at the cash register had "They/Them" as their pronouns on their name tag.

Like everyone else, trans people are most likely to be killed by someone they know.
As trans people are over represented in sex work, which brings additional dangers, they are at higher risk than others.
But the risk is rarely from random white men on the train.
Black trans women get murdered by black men.
But that’s no a narrative that will sell.
