Closing in on marathon No. 8 on October 7. First time running Milwaukee.
I ran 22 miles yesterday and the taper begins today.

Hey, we all make mistakes. This was an honest one. What was your workout today, xanadu?

I suppose I was harsh. Lot on my mind. Gretta, my pitcher, is going to die in the next week or two.

I suppose I was harsh. Lot on my mind. Gretta, my pitcher, is going to die in the next week or two. I'm really, really sorry to hear that. I get so emotionally invested in all the little shits I coach. Even once they've moved onto other teams, I see them, and it makes me so happy to see them succeed. They don't give a damn about me, but I will follow every last one of them until someone rips the jerseys off their backs. Could not even fathom what you're dealing with and I hope I never have to.

I'm going to see her tomorrow and it might be the last time. The diabetes spurred me to get healthy but she's on my mind every morning when I'm sweating it out.
She won't live to see 14.
I think all of us remember what it was like to be almost 14.
To answer your question ... my workout today was 15 miles, and 45.5 thru the last 3 days.

I tried to ride the most difficult "Extreme" course this morning, an 18-miler. I had to stop after 14.3 miles ... too much climbing. So I hopped on the treadmill and walked another 2 miles for 16.3 miles total.

I’ve been busy and/or out of town too much lately to exercise properly.
Haven’t lifted in almost three weeks. Haven’t ran in almost a week and a half.
Plus, I spent this past weekend with a gaggle of inconsiderate smokers. They’re fucking disgusting, and that is how I still feel, three days later.

Just weighed after another 15.5 miles and it reads 245. I can't seem to get down much lower. Some mornings might be 243 but I seem stuck here.
On one hand I'm OK with 245. On the other hand, it shouldn't be so difficult to drop 10 more yet here we are.

But once I got past that plateau I lost another 30 pounds pretty quickly.
