I hate lifts. I hate every life I have ever been on. They are all death traps. Our Wisconsin lift this weekend had a concrete landing, followed by almost no space to shove out before you hit the fence. It was one massive pile-up after another, all day long.

Detachable quads are fairly civilised. Some of those lifts at Vail are cranking. You better be on your game to load. No faster than the attendant utters a "hows your day going than the chair comes along and sweeps you up

Nothing like trying to waddle out there laterally to beat the next onrushing chair.

Are they able to back those things up in reverse?
Because it sounded like the accident happened shortly after he boarded, and then I bet he rode all the way up which can take lots of minutes.

It sounds like lift loader was not paying attention. They could have just made full stop had they realized what happened. Blue Sky basin is busy area especially during vacation time. Probably trying to keep lift moving and did not realize what happened

I don’t think they can. My kid got off one too early last weekend and the other two guys ended up getting stuck on it as it came through. The lift operator had to help the other guys down after it stopped. I’m guessing it would be dangerous for the chairs up high on the lift, somehow, to start moving backward.

Closest I’ve gotten to the Mile High Club. Does having sex in Denver mean you're in the Mile High Club?

Seems like lift attendants really dropped the ball.

Should have stuck to the Vista Bahn gondola at Vail with all of the college kids smoking weed.

I think of the crazy shit I used to do on ski lifts in high school and college and I'm amazed I was never hurt. We used to jump off them all the time. I did it as a junior ski patrol in high school to help collect things that people had dropped and we did it in college to show off for girls... It's amazing the things you do as a teenager that seem so idiotic when you're in your 40s.

Should have stuck to the Vista Bahn gondola at Vail with all of the college kids smoking weed. With some cool alternative rock station blaring. The guy must have been a decent skier
or he would not even have been able to get to Blue Sky Basin. You can't get there by lift. You have to ski to it.
