Not understanding. Are those the reasons why he did not enforce? Should Obama have said “fuck you Congress” and done it anyways? 'Cause, you know, he NEVER did that during his administration.

Yes. All of this is why it will be fascinating to watch. How will he govern? Will he follow jail or exile his opposition? Will he clean up corruption? Will he get the largest economy in South America going? Will he forge closer ties with the U.S.?

Libya without congressional approval. What changed?

A naive belief that Republicans were actually interested in governing, beyond, "Obama is for it; therefore we're against it"?

discussion. You just want to throw out barbs. Why wait? just put them out there and
debate with yourself.

What’s the barb? Obama declares his red line, and then out of no where the “no foreign interventions” wing of the GOP rose from the dead and seized power. Weirdly: They seem to have had no problem with Trump bombing people in Syria ....

So these (ahem) proposals to make disclosure of tax returns mandatory for presidential candidates ... just how are the mechanics supposed to work? You get some letter from the IRS?

So these (ahem) proposals to make disclosure of tax returns mandatory for presidential candidates ... just how are the mechanics supposed to work? You get some letter from the IRS? Just like all the cleared worker bees, candidates for the Presidency should be required to disclose sources of income and liabilities, especially those originating overseas.

Just like all the cleared worker bees, candidates for the Presidency should be required to disclose sources of income and liabilities, especially those originating overseas. That's not really responsive to my question, which was asked in all earnestness: What entity or institution will deem a candidate to be "in compliance?" And what are the mechanisms to: A) get in compliance; B) force a not-in-compliance candidate to become compliant; and/or C) deal with a not-in-compliance who refuses to become compliant?
As much as I find Trump's obfuscation with respect to his finances to be off-putting, I'm not so sure the proposed cure here is worse than the disease.
