Looks like voter fraud is indeed a thing -- Republicans got caught stealing a House election. NC refused to certify results and may call a special election, and news orgs have uncalled Mark Harris' win over Democrat Dan McCready. Sworn affidavits from African-American voters say someone from Harris' campaign collected their absentee ballots, often before they filled those ballots out. In the Republican primary, Harris won ***96 percent*** of the absentee vote. GOP, of course, is calling for an end to the investigation and a quick certification of the result. Certification in limbo in N.C. House race as fraud investigation continuesI've been following this story pretty closely and it's absolutely nuts. Apparently it's been an open secret for a long time in Bladen County that this one guy who gets hired and re-hired every cycle - most recently by Republicans - is up to his neck in hinky behavior with absentee ballots. The GOP bell ringing about voter fraud finally makes sense. They knew it existed, despite scant evidence, because they were doing it. Note: None of the GOP "fixes" for voter fraud are aimed at absentee ballots, where the real problems apparently exist.

Note: None of the GOP "fixes" for voter fraud are aimed at absentee ballots, where the real problems apparently exist. Preventing "Voter Fraud" as the Republicans frame it is a bullshit proposition. There are few documented cases of individuals voting twice (by changing their clothes and putting on a hat) or posing as someone else. That is far too limited and inefficient to be bothered with. Stuffing ballot boxes, faked mail-in and absentee ballots, and monkeying with electronic voting machines allow a much better shot at enough votes to matter.
Voter suppression allows eliminating the other party's votes in wholesale lots.

This is what a president is supposed to sound like in situations such as these.

LOL no. But credit where it's due, he delivered an eloquent speech.
He enjoyed a moment and I guarantee you Republicans are looking at him today in a whole new light.
Can you imagine the abortion Trump would've turned that into? I don't think Pence used a single adverb lol

This made me laugh, and I think is largely true.

One of Mike Pence's finest moments. Just a beautiful tribute

Just had a colleague tell me "Long time, no see!" Trying to decide whether or not I should have corrected him for his derogatory (vis-a-vis Asians) speech. Not doing so allowed his problematic speech to go unchallenged. Doing so would have involved me exploiting my white male privilege, because my colleague's Chinese (he took his PhD here in the US). Talk about the horns of a dilemma!

Pulling an NC here, as this represents my view of political discourse today:

Wow wow wow.
Recommended no jail time for Flynn.
Mueller says it's because of his extensive cooperation.
Now we rolling, gang.
