It’s embarrassing to be a media member these days. No it’s not. My personal reputation is on the line with every byline. Not my fault others fuck up.

I guess technically the images make it MORE likely than before that Smollett’s story is true. After all, these are two people in the general area who at least vaguely fit the description. How much more? That’s the question.

A working theory:
He did get into a brief scuffle with a couple guys. They may have called him a “faggot” not because they recognized him, but because that’s the kind of thing drunk assholes say at 2 a.m.

What a coincidence that everything happened in that 60-second window. Couldn't have written it any better.

Or, you know, the “attackers” waited until he was off surveillance, or lured him off, so they wouldn’t get caught.

The flip side to that is that at 2 o'clock in the morning, cold as fuck, nobody is thinking about surveillance cameras.

None of it makes a lick of sense at this point. CPD first says they scoured 100s of hours of surveillance video with no suspects. Then, suddenly, we have surveillance video with two suspects, right outside the apartment that Smollett entered, pretty much simultaneous to the rope appearing around his neck? And then, the only 60 seconds (at least that's how it sounds) that he's out of camera range are the 60 seconds where the rope appears on him?
What would be Sherlock Holmes' explanation?

Mustard in the conservatory with the rope?
