AOC and Maxine Waters believe. Doesn't look like AOC has said anything about it on twitter or the gram.

It's interesting to me that, to my knowledge, TMZ has not acknowledged any of the reporting of potential holes in Smollett's story, namely CPD's struggle to find corroborating evidence. I've been part of the chorus of, "TMZ doesn't get it wrong!" in the past. But its errors of omission here are glaring.

What is going to be interesting, to me, is how much Chicago's surveillance cameras will be able to track Smollett's movements during this time. We know he was at Subway. At what other points are his whereabouts visible?

It's a modern-day Al-Sharpton-Tawanna Brawley, but if you want to be a credible news organization, you don't just get to report the initial allegations, then turn a blind eye as the allegations begin to fall apart.

I can't believe news organizations are still going with these kinds of headlines.

Are police going to be able to prove this negative?
Or will this forever be considered in some (most) circles an attack that happened, with a bonus of police bias preventing the attackers from justice?

I think it depends on what the surveillance video shows. At this point, it wouldn't surprise me if the review is less about finding the alleged perpetrators, and more about documenting Smollett's movements in order to have enough evidence for a false reporting charge.

The neighborhood dis very upscale, so I imagine there are cameras all over the place. They might be able to track him all the way to the Subway, and from it. They supposedly do have him on camera at the Subway, so they know the timing, which will make searching easier.

Which hate crime was the worst --
Morton Down's swastika
Tawanna Brawley's rape
Jussie Smollett's homophobic assault
