Politico reporter says that the President's press secretary referred to AOC as a Biden adviser.
AOC objects to this, saying that it's akin to calling her "the help" when she's a congresswoman.
Problem is... she referred to her as a congresswoman, and a Biden adviser.

Darnell Autry claimed that his acting career was going so poorly that he thought about stealing a bag of potato chips. Then he said he could have run away and eaten the potato chips while he was running, so that once he was arrested, he would have already eaten the evidence.
This lack of stage knowledge ensured he would never act. So he played in the NFL for a spell instead.
On a side note, some lame-o paper once referred to him in a headline as "Heisman winner Autry." I assume the box drawer confused him with Rashaan Salaam.

One of the individuals Hawaii chose (in 1969) to honor with a statue in the National Statuary Hall Collection was St. Damien, a Belgian priest who spent many years ministering to the lepers’ colony at Molokai before contracting leprosy and dying there. (Hawaii’s other entry is Kamehameha I.) AOC’s exquisitely sensitive antennae detect “white supremacy” ... After AOC decries statue, Hawaiian Catholic says St Damien of Molokai 'gave his life' serving lepers
I bet “her office later added ...” Side note: Plucked a copy of Jack London’s Stories of Hawaii out of a dollar bin at the used bookstore a while back. Damn good. |

There are tons of genuine assholes, many of whom are racist white men, honored in the National Statuary Hall that she could have used to effectively make her point about the lack of women or people of color. Choosing St. Damien of Molokai is just bizarre. I'm not particularly happy about my state sending Billy Graham as a replacement for one of those aforementioned assholes - seems like an opportunity missed - but I am glad an unabashed white supremacist is coming down. |
