The battles of 2009, again being fought. I’m just occasionally driving by.

I will fully denounce Trump if nicknames become a lasting thing in American politics. “The Squad” sounds like they are main characters in a ‘90s MTV teen drama. Three years ago I was teaching fifth grade and there was a group of girls in the class known as "The Squad." Congress' "The Squad" seems to have about a fifth-grade understanding of things. I find it just perfect they ended up with the nickname "The Squad."

These conversations are the best on either board. Tony, Devil, Smallpotatoes and the like repeatedly banging their heads against the wall to show just how little activity goes on in their brains. I agree. The best is when someone is super, super wrong and won't give up the ghost. Tony is not remotely dumb, but he's absolutely no way, no how going to not defend a Republican. Ever. My position is not "to defend Trump." My position is Trump doesn't need to be defended.

On no level is Tony anything even close to dumb. If his performances on these boards is not an act, I'm not sure how else you would describe him. He is the opposite of intellectually curious. Wrong again. I'm sure curious why Hillary's staffers were given immunity -- or, more accurately, Immuni(D). I'm really curious about why the FBI and DOJ spied on/wiretapped and then tried to frame a presidential candidate/president-elect/serving president, with a fake dossier paid for by said candidate/president-elect/president's election opponent. And I'm incredibly curious why the mainstream media doesn't have an ounce of curiosity about a scandal 100 times worse than Watergate. And I'm especially curious how a board of "journalists" doesn't have the least bit of curiosity about those matters. I'm also curious about why those same "journalists" know in their hearts the previous administration targeted its political enemies using the DOJ and the IRS, yet want it forgotten and buried.

It's not exactly an act, but I think he sees this as little more than a taffy pull. He's just not going to give "the libs" the satisfaction of a straight answer. Read Tony on the music and sports threads. He's smart. Here, he spars. So the Making a Murderer performance was what, then? I'm not sure I've ever seen a display that is more lacking critical thinking--aka dumb. I believe I called him a "fucking moron" not too long ago. Hell, even lcjjdnh called him "very stupid," which isn't really his style. He can talk about music and sports. Fantastic. He's still an idiot. Actually, I find it really idiotic to claim you know everything about the trial because you watched a slanted "documentary," when you had never heard of Steven Avery or Brendan Dassey or Teresa Halbach until you saw the "documentary." I followed the actual trial very closely and am friends with a number of people who actually covered the trial and also had to cover the mess the fakeumentary caused.

Not "an ounce of curiosity," you say? The Times just last week had a front-page story on the DOJ IG's impending report on the Russia investigation, you dope. (Also, if the search function worked, you'd see I raised concerns about the FISA issue at SJ.com even though I'm far from a Trump fan.)

I laughed hard at this line: "Did F.B.I. officials do anything wrong in 2016 when they sought to understand the Trump campaign’s links to Russia — including how they used information from Mr. Steele?" Yeah, that's what they were doing ... trying "to understand the Trump campaign's links to Russia." I've got a whole lot of ocean-front property in North Dakota to sell you if you believe that's what they "sought to understand."

I will vouch for few, but I have no issues vouching for Tony, who was one of the nicest and most thoughtful people I ever had the pleasure of working alongside. Nothing about him even remotely approaches "dumb" and to imply otherwise, because you don't like his politics, is asinine.

Joke if you want, but when the day does finally arrive that the deep-state swamp is all cleaned out, I expect you'll be very unhappy. But for now you're happy to have corruptocrats such as Strzok, Page, Lerner and Lynch doing your dirty work in the trenches, laws and rules be damned.
