We have a new music thread. I’m starting an old music thread.
I love John Denver.
Next.

Just a couple weeks ago was talking with a buddy at work about the Allman Brothers playing like 20 shows in March at the Beacon Theater in NYC. My buddy is more of a heavy metal fan, but did get to see the Brothers at the Beacon. He asked if Dicky was still alive. Less than a week later, he died. Glad I got to see them twice at the Beacon mid 00s.

I recently stumbled upon a band from the early 70s called Little Feat. Hadn't ever heard of them before, but they've got some great stuff like Spanish Moon and Red Streamliner.

Surprised you had never heard of them. Lowell George, the co-founder, is one of those musician's musicians. Not as famous as he should be but universally respected within the industry.

How far back do you want to go? I'm a big fan of Dixieland jazz from the 1920s (including subsequent revivals in the '40s/'50s and '70s), as well as early rock and roll from the '50s.

I’ve been listening to a lot of old Pogues, Fishbone and Bad Religion albums lately.

I could really dominate this thread, but the Taylor Swift party just entered high gear.

Hank Williams is as far back as I go. Although I guess some of the blues music I listen to is just as old.

I own a four-disc box set of Nat King Cole, and there's ever a bad time to listen to it.
