I think Newsom should, and will, challenge Biden in 2024.
I know he’s got a governor’s race going on, but he looks to be setting himself up as a kind of shadow leader right now.
If it’s just him vs. Biden, he could win.
If he waits to 2028, it’s a complete crapshoot.
He’s also never been one to wait his turn.
He’s also one of the few who could still raise big money while challenging an incumbent.

I didn’t even realize anyone was polling this.

I think a lot of Democratic voters would. Biden's favorability is especially low. He won in 2020 because he was seen as the most electable, not because anyone loves Joe Biden. If you take that away from him, what's left? Newsom is definitely aiming to raise his profile, and is setting up an argument for (democratic) voters that what he's doing in California could be a model for the nation. And, I think he is skilled enough politically to run against Biden, and make the case for himself, and for "change" without tearing down Biden. (And, he's young enough to do it in a way that Elizabeth Warren or Hillary Clinton are not.) The key would be the African-American vote. They saved Biden in 2020. Would they do it again in 2024? But, seriously, I think Newsom will run. Waiting your turn doesn't work, especially not for Democrats. It wasn't Bill Clinton's turn. It wasn't Barack Obama's turn. 2024 is Newsom's best chance to win.

Sure, it would eventually devolve into a shit show, but don’t we deserve this race, as opposed to a re-run of Biden-Trump?

Seems to me that Rs are trying to move on from Trump, but isn't it possible, that if he gets in again, he'll just pick them all off, one by one, like he did the first time?

Trump will be the nominee.

Trump needs to be convinced not to run.
(Biden too.)

Can you imagine going through this January 6 "Stop the Steal" bullshit all over again if he were to lose in 2024?
Because we will.

Does anyone really think Republicans won’t fall in line and support Trump if he’s the nominee? Of course they will.
Likewise, people like AOC will do the same if Biden runs again.
It’s a complete waste of fucking time to even ask the question.

This jackhole didn't just file a lawsuit as related to the mechanisms of a recount.
He tweeted non-stop for two months straight in Crayola, as he always does, that the election was "stolen" from him by way of some coordinated deep conspiracy to swing every swing state Joe Biden's way.
Then he tried to get his Vice President killed in order to halt the certification of election results, all while encouraging his whack-a-doodle cult to violently storm Congress.
Pimple on the ass of American history.
