I think it’s pretty clear that “Pride” is the liberal equivalent of the right-wing open carry yayhoos and such, in that a considerable part of the enjoyment is how much it triggers the other side.

I bought a rainbow cake, from the queer women-owned vegan bakery, for our vegan dinner guest on Saturday, and the staff at Fiona's gymnastics class on Sunday was very impressed that she had chosen to wear a rainbow striped dress. (Which was actually just a happy coincidence.)   |

I'm trying to figure out your turn to gay rights heel. This was always your one liberal position! I love gay people. Have them in my family. Am friends with many. Have been to more gay bars than most straight people. And, remember, unlike 99% of SJ World, I’ve always chosen to live in big cities, in diverse neighborhoods. My mockery is of the media coverage. And the corporate silliness. I mean, I do think drag queen story hour is a weird activity for children, and that kindergarten teachers don’t need to explain their sexuality, gender or kink to their students, but that’s a pretty mainstream position, I think. |

My Scrabble app changes its look depending on the various holiday seasons. It's a rainbow theme right now. For a while, I thought it was tie-dyed. But it dawned on me today.
