I'll take "Things that are only happening in the minds of the puny-brained anti-Christians" for $1000. Funny how people like you make up stories about indoctrination, but you defend it with nonsense like that when it actually happens.

So, my son’s teacher emailed all of the parents last week to tell us that most kids in the class would get “2s” on their report cards due to an assignment to write an essay that almost everyone in the class failed, or at least struggled with.
My wife emailed him back and asked for more details about our son specifically, including whether he received the accommodations in his IEP. The teacher responded by saying he didn't even assign the paper to our son and that his grade was “nt,” for “not taught.”
Fast forward to this morning — I got the boy’s report card and the ENTIRE section under History and Social Studies is marked “nt.” Literally meaning he wasn’t taught or graded on a single goddamn thing all quarter.
What the fuck?

It blows my mind that this is all happening on what’s considered a good school system.
Your son can’t be the only kid in this situation either. This isn’t new for them.
So, what the fuck?
Especially considering that you are an involved parent and are advocating for your son.

I don’t know what to say anymore. This is on top of the SIX meetings since December that we’ve had to finalize his IEP update, which is still a sticking point because they won’t provide any math assistance, even though he was struggling so much that we took him out of immersion so he could learn it in English, and is still struggling mightily.
I keep going back to a conversation I had with the very first social worker who worked with him when this all started. He said there was systemic rot in the county’s special ed program, and the only way it would ever change is through massive class action.
He was 100 percent right.

I find report cards impossible to understand these days. Its all letters (that arent ABCD or F) or weird numbers.
Is it possible no one was taught social studies this term if its a rotating thing? Or is he missing it for pull outs for the other services maybe?

Or is he missing it for pull outs for the other services maybe? He gets pulled out for reading/writing lab, but that’s only 30 minutes. But his regular teacher sends emails every week about what he’s teaching, including the specific one about this essay that everyone bombed, and my son has come home talking about history stuff several times. He’s clearly been taught something. It looks pretty clear to me that the teacher’s way of “accommodating” his disability is to just not hold him to account on anything. Our report cards are pretty easy to read: Grades are 1 through 4, 4 being the best, or “na/nt.” The thing that drives me crazy is that they also grade “effort,” and my son gets pretty much all 4s there. So, if his effort is top-notch and his grades still suck, wouldn’t the answer be to give him extra help instead of just not grading him at all?

Seems like the biggest no brainer in the world that cell phones should be in bags or in lockers during the school day.

On one hand, I’m glad we’re not alone in fighting with an obstinate school administration. On the other, a teacher cut off our last IEP meeting while holding back tears, so there but for the grace of God go I.

I’m not dealing with IEP folks or educational advocates again. I can’t take it anymore.
I told my wife in no uncertain terms that we’re getting ripped off by our advocate and it’s all about chasing a vendetta now instead of helping our son. The school, the county and the state have all circled the wagons.
I said we need to pull every cent we’re giving our advocate and put it into private tutoring services. Money would be infinitely better spent on that than on what this IEP circus has morphed into.

Now I'm more upset on your behalf.

Who is the bigger racist, the Governor of New York, or the frat bro in Mississippi, who mocked the fat, Black girl, by making monkey gestures in her direction?
