Has Rittenhouse accounted for his whereabouts the evening Smollet was attacked? At least he didn't have to cross state lines.

Jussie is testifying in his own defense.

Interesting.
So, he wants to add perjury?

Interesting. So, he wants to add perjury? It will be a mockery of they don’t pursue perjury charges as a result of his testimony.

I realize the defense is not obligated to present an alternative theory of the crime. But have they presented one? I'm curious what theory of the case makes any sense other than the prevailing theory.

If Smollett gets convicted, is that systemic racism, systemic homophobia or both?

If Smollett gets convicted, is that systemic racism, systemic homophobia or both? My thought yesterday: bad parenting.

I have a feeling he's going to be acquitted, under the reasonable doubt standard. There's no smoking gun, and it's basically a credibility contest between him and the two brothers, at this point.
I have a fraud case right now - this is a civil matter - in which it is beyond obvious to a thinking person that there was a ghost payrolling situation going on. But proving it is a really frustrating exercise. I feel like the Smollett case is similar.

My thought yesterday: bad parenting. He's like 40 years old. Sure. But bad parenting can fuck you up for life. He should have been beaten more as a kid whenever he told a fib. Would have helped keep him from doing it as an adult. Spare the rod, spoil the child.

Spare the rod, spoil the child. I don't beat my kids. Hopefully they don't grow up to falsify hate crimes because of it 30 years from now.

If you’re not going to beat them, you should at least burn all their toys.

If you’re not going to beat them, you should at least burn all their toys. I like the way you think. Burn Mickey Mouse in effigy, make them watch, and teach your kids the ills of materialism, branding, marketing, and corporate mind control. We really should have a “How to turn your kids into axe murderers” thread.
