Would be near the parking garage enterence of the Sheraton and the Loews.
It’s below street level, like the Billy Goat, which is nearby, but like the Billy Goat, it’s at the edge of where the street hits street level.
Police say two people approached a 36-year-old man at about 2 a.m. Tuesday as he was walking in the 300 block of East Lower Water Street and got his attention by yelling out racial and homophobic slurs. The offenders began to “batter” the man with their hands and poured an unknown chemical substance on him, according to police.

Anyone contacted Al Sharpton for comment?

It's pretty clear he was attacked though, right? You can't really break your own rib. I would think so, but I’d also want some confirmation on the injuries. TMZ doesn’t say who told them that. I doubt the hospital said this, so it’s likely from him, or a “source close to him.”

Best part of the TMZ story is they claim that Smollet received a letter eight days ago in Chicago, to Fox Studios, threatening him. Then he gets off a train at 2 a.m. in Chicago on a weeknight, goes to Subway, and - wouldn't you know it - he's attacked! In a hate crime in which the perpetrators practically announce, "We are committing a hate crime!"
Didn't happen.

We’re saying the same thing. Except your last paragraph. They released a pretty specific statement. “Given the severity of the allegations, we are taking this investigation very seriously and treating it as a possible hate crime."Where did I say it serves as confirmation?

Didn't believe it from the very second I first read it (which was not here).

People are starting to call bullshit. If anyone knows the truth, it is certainly “my tweet portal is whack.”

People are starting to call bullshit. If anyone knows the truth, it is certainly “my tweet portal is whack.” That was Browkaw’s initial attempt to apologize the other day. The handle is temporary, and meant to mock Brokaw. He’s a reporter — for a right wing publication —who is famous for having been a litigant in a famous SCOTUS case.

Maybe the attackers thought he had a punchable face?

Lots of outlets plowing ahead, with headlines treating this as fact.
