I haven’t heard much from AOC lately. Must be busy taking over the party. There's been a lot of talk that her Chief of Staff, who left, was the brains behind the operation, and that's why she's quieted down since he left. But, she's been serving as a surrogate for Bernie Sanders, and just the other day had her version of a "you didn't build that" moment, which was shared widely on right wing circles.

This is a bit of a cross-thread, but as re: those "dreadful academically" institutions that wrinkle the noses of some ... keep in mind that this young lady took a degree IN ECONOMICS from one of the best universities in the world.

You don’t have to take math (and history) classes to get an economics degree?

You don’t make a billion dollars, you take a billion dollars. There's a case to be made that being a billionaire means you are inherently, morally corrupt. Of course, she's not here to villainize them.

If you can figure out a way to sit on your couch, and legally “take” a billion dollars, while your minions do all the work, you are a super genius.

Time magazine had an article about all the paradigm shifts in 2019. AOC was mentioned prominently. The inclusion is a no-brainer, but I wonder how effective the "No, we want THIS!" platform will be over time. To be fair, either later in that article or in a different one, there was a mention about how the approaches of liking, retweeting, etc., are not as effective as actually doing something.

Life in capitalism always ends in billionaires.
So what does life in socialism always end in?

You gotta hate guys like Bill Gates who just sit on the couch and never contribute anything. Gates has approximately $110 billion right now.
I would be slightly impressed if tomorrow he announced he was distributing $100 billion of that this year to worthy causes (not The Human Fund). Otherwise? Nahhh.

Serious scholars have tried to estimate just how much innovators/entrepreneurs "take." You can quibble with the numbers, but such quibbles don't really matter: They make the rest of us far, far wealthier than they make themselves.
