If you avoid rush hour travel in Baltimore, this will merely be an inconvenience until the bridge is replaced - - maybe 2030.
HOWEVER, traffic through Baltimore and all up and down I-95 from Boston to Richmond is a giant parking lot full of stress and anxiety during Holiday Travel. Those times are going to be bloody awful for quite a while.

Those times are going to be bloody awful for quite a while. Yep. And this is on top of a 10- to 15-mile work zone just north of Baltimore where they’re extending the express lanes. I kept muttering to myself in the past few days that they better finish that shit before the summer travel season starts. But they’re not even close.

Drove to Annapolis and back over the weekend. Stop-and-go traffic both ways between Quantico and 495. No accidents. No construction. 🤷♂️

I went to the ACC tournament in DC the weekend before last and left at about 8:30 on Sunday morning. From Chinatown to the southside of Richmond, I did not have a single slowdown. Just smooth sailing the entire way. I should have taken a picture to commemorate it.

I drove through Baltimore again last night, around 7. I could see the wreckage from my car — it was very jarring.
Traffic, however, was downright delightful. It might be the first time I was ever impressed by anything associated with Maryland.

When they build a new bridge, it’s going to need a new name. Called it.
