I think he's always been pretty self-aware of how he was when he was younger. He talks about it all the time on his podcast. 🙄 Just more look-at-me nonsense. He shouldn’t get kudos for such an “epiphany.”

“See this person here? Now, I know I have not been perfect, but I am better than this person. And I now realize I could be so much better — than most people. Please join me on my journey of self-discovery.”

It’s always about how they just didn’t react the right way to this other, ACTUAL asshole.

It's hard to not get frustrated when you know you're a better person, and smarter, than 90% of the population.

He also attacks writers by name, which is something I have very little patience for... That was how KVV wound up on his podcast. If you haven't listened to that podcast, it's brilliant, because he takes Pearlman completely to task as Pearlman is apologizing. Brilliant stuff...

I was I had saved his PM's to me from back in the day when he did not like my comments on some of his work. I think it was about his David Wells story .

Wish I had mine where Jones asked me to stop inquiring into “Esquire” inventing a lede because his contract was coming up for renewal. Hard-nosed scribe right there.

I think he's always been pretty self-aware of how he was when he was younger. He talks about it all the time on his podcast. Twitter didn't exist when he was younger. He gleefully engages in the type of behavior he described, on social. A lot of us (myself included) are not exactly proud of everything we did in our 20s. I get that and I'm sympathetic to people who grow up, realize the error in their ways and don't continue (or dramatically reduce) such behavior. To talk about what a punk you were in your 20s while simultaneously starting feuds with other writers on Twitter and admonishing anyone who disagrees with you politically is very hypocritical.

Jeff told me that I had no right to criticize his writing since I wasn't a writer. That was early stage of
the old shop where some of membership thought you should not be allowed to post unless
your were a card carrying sports writer.

Pearlman has former SI writer Melissa Ludke on his podcast today. Great stuff about the groundbreaking lawsuit that got women access to baseball locker rooms...
You take the bad, you take the good...
His podcast is tremendous. If you're in the business, used to be in the business or follow the business, most of the episodes are great.

What is a brief synopsis of the KVV exchange that was interesting? I’m not really up to listening to someone who hates my guts, but I’m interested in hearing about it.
