Nah. The backlash already happened. It’s why it didn’t win best picture. Derided as too white, called uneventful. As a snapshot of Post 9/11 America, the exploration of the creeping sense of dread and paranoia both technology and the passing of time of the era and the cutting of all that with a human moment like its ending, it will hold up as a historical document and a movie.

We're going to have to agree to disagree on that.

No Dunnkirk. No The Big Short. Fury Road No. 1. Into the Spider-Verse being the only representative of the comic-book genre is laughable and too clever by half. As the only rep of the comic book genre, I agree, but it is probably the best of the comic book genre. Goddamn, that was a good movie.

I totally disagree with Fury Road as the top film of the decade. It was fun, it looked great, I enjoyed the hell out of it. But it didn't stick with me in any meaningful way. It was the definition of a popcorn flick (which I love). It was a great popcorn flick, but frankly it didn't hold a candle to films such as "Spotlight," "Room," or hell, even "Get Out." None of those films looked as cool as Fury Road, but they were all much more powerful films.
The biggest travesty, which I'm surprised no one mentioned, was the inclusion of Magic Mike, at the expense of some really great films.

Is "Remember Me" on the list?
Excellent flick.

I enjoy these kinds of lists, but Vulture’s always seem like they exhausted as much effort trying to come up with controversial choices than they do distinguishing the best and worst. I mean, regardless of one’s view on superhero films, Avengers: Endgame was really the absolute worst of every single movie released in the last decade?

Boy, this list really blows. There are some really bad movies on there, even though they were well received, mostly because of the topics they covered (ahem, Moonlight). I’ve seen a ton of them because the wife is a member of SAG and we get screeners, but the ones I found particularly exceptional were:
10. Ladybird 12. Manchester By the Sea 37. Whiplash 75. Mudbound
Whiplash is by far the best, but one really good movie that didn’t make the list was Beautiful Boy.

I think we’ve officially found the hottest take ever given.

Those reviews of the bad movies are AWESOME. Well, if you can get past the obvious wokeness and virtue signaling.
One of them does raise a good question: Did we really need an Arthur reboot? As someone who endured "Arthur 2: On the Rocks" more than once, I can say we did not.

The Vulture list has 'Melancholia' No. 1 out of more than 5,000 movies. The movie is terrible. It has 'Wind River' at 5,230. I didn't think much of the movie, but it wasn't that bad. I saw movies worse than that. The same is true of 'Glass' at at 5,233. It wasn't good, but I saw worse movies. 'Blockers' comes to mind as being much worse than both of those others. And the 'Suspiria' remake at 5,234 is insane. I actually liked the 'Suspiria' remake.

As a side note, I’m glad to see The Artist dropping off all these lists.

I disliked "Split" and despised "Unbreakable," so I did not miss missing "Glass." Also, I thought the reviewer's blast at M. Night Shamalamadingdong, while perhaps hot-takish, was amusing.
