The 0% financing thing ... sheesh ... Apple can't borrow money at 0%, but people really think they're gonna get to? After 9/11, I got 0% financing for 48 months, put down half. If you're credit is 800, in NY and NJ right now you can get 1.9% over 48 or 60 months at several dealerships. No you didn’t. You got an amortization schedule that looked like 0%, but finance charges were baked into the deal somewhere. |

Well, those were the most butt-ugly taxes I've ever filed. Owe the federal government $1,061 . . . despite dropping $9,122 into the 401(k). Even got hit with a $7(!) underpayment penalty. Kick in the groin is that we made $140 too much to qualify for the $200 Retirement Savers Credit. But I get a refund on my state taxes --- $45! Mine are finally almost done. Getting a decent amount of money back. I know some people twist and roil about what a bad thing that is, but I prefer a refund to paying. |

But it was 13k out the door, put down 7k, payment was $130something a month over the 48 months. |

It’s built into the price, plus processing fees and loss of incentives. Out the door price was a few hundred over dealer invoice, was less than getting incentives and paying 4 or 5%. |

Maybe I am doing it wrong, but I rarely haggle about the auto financing. Given that one car lasted almost 12 years and could have gone longer, and the current one also has gone for a while, I have few regrets. Yes, these are two different concepts, but I figure any money I lost on a 0.2 percent higher borrowing rate has been made back with longevity.

Yes, these are two different concepts, but I figure any money I lost on a 0.2 percent higher borrowing rate has been made back with longevity. don't like haggling either. think it's good that sites like edmunds and cargurus are around. couple decades ago, it wasn't easy to find dealer invoice. now pretty much every dealer will give you the dealer invoice and spec sheet if you ask. if your credit is below 750, you probably won't get a real good rate. |
