I'm not going to cheer for my 401(k) to crash so that I can score some sort of weird political points.

I'm not going to cheer for my 401(k) to crash so that I can score some sort of weird political points. Not cheering either. I'm pointing and laughing at the President, who three times in the last year has celebrated the Dow crashing through the 25,000 point barrier. I'm also pointing and laughing at his remaining supporters, who apparently aren't bright enough to point and laugh, too.

You could also laugh at detractors who have been predicting financial doom because of his policy on taxes, tariffs, immigration and a whole bunch of other stuff. The market being where it is now is a victory over the consensus projections for sure.

Which is not out of line with expectations. Most people, even of the non-Ragu variety, were predicting a pullback after nine years of growth.

But really - this wasn't even about the Dow's performance. This is me pointing and laughing at the President celebrating the Dow crossing the same point at three different times. If you don't read those tweets and face palm ... well ....

There are some people on this planet who do have the intellectual chops to mock those who interpret a given market move through a partisan lens ... but there aren't very many of them.

Don't confuse my willingness to argue about things on the internet with me being "offended."

Dow Ended yesterday at 24,999.67.
Can we get a day of it bouncing across 24,999 and back again, several times, so the President can send out "DOW just busted over 25,000!" multiple times in one day?

DJIA just crossed over 25,000! Again? How many times has it gone back under 25K?
