I'm taking my first day off of running in approximately 60 days today. In all seriousness, how tough is it to get through a day WITHOUT exercising?

Between cardio. Walked 8 miles in about 2 hours and getting ready to bike 12 miles when the gym opens at 7.

The goal for tomorrow is 15 miles in 2:15. Did it in 2:27. Lost my pace around Mile 11 and didn’t get it back until the last mile and a half.

What is that overall pace then? 9:49. The bad miles were between 10:30 and 11:00 pace.

Six days until marathon day. Forecast is for a high of 59 and rain.
I'll just be doing a few miles a day this week. The biggest day is Wednesday: 8 miles with 2 of them at marathon race pace.
My program recommends 4 miles on Saturday, but I think I am going to take that day off. It seems like I react well to a day off the following day. Some people think not running the day before leaves them a little sluggish. I think it is highly dependent on the person.

I have a weird tightness in my thigh after the weekend that I hope is nothing, but feels an awful lot like the groin injury I had at the beginning of summer.
The good news is it goes away after I walk about 100 feet. It better not be anything — I have a 10-miler in 6 days.

Six easy miles this morning. Two mornings before the marathon. I'm debating how to play them. I really think I'm - for the first time - going to not run at all the day before it. But then I have to decide what to do with tomorrow. I could do 4 to 6 easy miles. But I was also thinking of doing perhaps 4 to 6 at marathon pace, just to get the rhythm and feel down one last time.
Decisions, decisions.

I might weigh in below 240 after tomorrow's sweat. I was at 240.6 yesterday.
I've been waking up at 3 to squeeze in extra mileage at the track before going to the gym. I'm obsessing.

I did 2 miles of incline walking this morning before taking my daughter to school. I'm at the Goldilocks stage of obsession (working out every day but not overdoing it -- "just right"). I was down to 230 last weekend when I weighed myself. I've lost about 20 pounds and toned up a good bit. I'm more sinewy than I have been in almost a decade. Would like to get down to 210.
