I just think it's funny that I'm the one being accused of hypocrisy, and not those who believed Dr. Ford, but doubted the sandwich story.
The preponderance of the evidence supports the sandwich story.
In fact, no evidence to the contrary has been brought forward.
In Dr. Ford's case, it was impossible to confirm independently, and yet everyone who she says could have confirmed it says the story is false, including her best friend at the time, who she put at the party.

Also, let's take a look at her reasoning.
You know damn well that the facilities and security folks are contractors, working for third parties.
And while the surely have their own on-boarding, they are not going through new hire orientation with Times employees.
I have hard badges at with several clients to access their campuses. I've got to sit through a video, that tells me all about the company's values, and tells be the rules of the campus. I usually have to take a test at the end.
But I get a contractors badge, and have never been in new hire orientation with the employees of the company.
And, even in buildings owned by the company, as I believe the Times building is, the security and facilities folks I deal with are always also third party contractors. (And in the vast majority of cases, so are the food service employees.)
NHJ knows this.

To me, the damning thing with Ford was her refusal to cough up the supposed therapist notes that would have at least confirmed that she had previously shared the story.

The finger-snapping thing is goofy as all get-out, but it's not that hard to understand how it could happen. One person begins snapping in response to the put-down of CFA, and others join in. No different than how a standing ovation begins.

Looks like oop finally made a friend. Congratulations, Dick. You really are quite bitter. Perhaps I can muster the empathy to say I'm sorry for whatever experiences made you that way.

The finger-snapping thing is goofy as all get-out ... Many moons ago we attended a very hip Easter Vigil service at this bier garten in Austin. It was a very ... ahem ... contemporary service, with all sorts of artistic contributions interspersed with the liturgy. (Our son had performed in a strings quartet in it the year before.) One of the contributions was from a young Black "slam poet" whose offering was, essentially, "Random Ruminations on Black Pride", which to my ear had fuck-all in the way of connections with the service. Still, fine ... What was hi-fucking-larious were all these middle-aged, way-upper-middle-class whiteys (this was an Episcopalian service, mind you), doing the finger-snapping thing. Give me a fucking break. You ain't with it, you ain't never been with it, you ain't ever gonna be with it. Just applaud politely and think about the cage-free mimosas you're serving tomorrow morning.

Slam/beat poetry is the only thing I would associate finger-snapping with. Like Mike Myers in So I Married an Axe Murderer.
