TL,DR. Unsure if she's a tier or not. She’s a thief and a freeloader.

I am highly skeptical she just rolled out of bed and churned out 13 straight 7:43s.

It’s not “free streets” you run on, you dolt. The organizers had to pay for a permit to use those streets, shutting them down and getting police to maintain the closures.
I’d also be interested in whether or not she took a medal and a post-race water and food, or got a drink at an aid station, or pissed or shit in a port-a-potty, or received medical attention. All of that costs money.
They’re not just charging runners to be mean.

Hard to believe that some people are saying this.
Though the replies are mostly disagreeing.

There are only like trillions of square miles in this country where you can run 13.1 for free.

I’ll bet the exact route of the race she crashed is available free to runners the entire remaining 364 days and 20 hours a year.

Do the taxpayers for those streets get a refund for the periods in which organizers close them?

Can I say something that some people aren't going to like?
I don't understand what is "uplifting" about running something without training. (And this isn't the first time I've seen something like this sold as "uplifting," or some variation.)
The "training" is 99 percent of the commitment and sacrifice.
As far as "banditing" goes," I'm not a fan, which shouldn't be a huge surprise. But this is made exponentially worse by her attention-whoring and trying to spin it into some "stick it to the man" narrative.
Alexa, you ain't D.B. Cooper.

I’m a little put off by the fact that “Katie Notopoulos” is a “senior correspondent at Business Insider writing about technology and business,” and not just some random Twitter whacko.
